Viticulture has a broader scope than farming strictly speaking. A vineyard is symbolic of a "terroir" and is ambassador of the territory where it grows. Its attractiveness to tourists, and its labour requirements at specific times of the growing season, often makes it a key local economic player. The vineyard, redrawing the landscape, is a long-term production investment, so that its sustainability is a key challenge for wine growers. Respect for the soil is a key factor in running a vineyard. It is essential to optimise its operation. Marcel Mézy Technologies quickly create humus in soils, thereby improving their structure. The result is improved soil drainage, more water retention in a form bound to humus, reduced erosion, and reduced losses through leaching.
The biological activity generated by the spontaneous micro-organisms from Marcel Mézy Technologies produces a functional soil that promotes vine growth both below and above ground, regulates their vigour and optimises their production quantitatively and qualitatively by limiting water and nutrition stresses (excess, deficiency, and blockage).
It also improves vines' resistance to diseases by balancing their feed and by developing auxiliary flora thereby limiting disease vectors.
In this way, while respecting the environment, vines can express their full potential by making the most of the characteristics of their soil. Proper soil-vine balance optimises their longevity, improves their functioning throughout their entire life cycle (from stockpiling to production), by preventing stress shock (set failure, millerandage, resumption after frost...).
